First off, the store actually is a good will store.

They will have another "everything is 50c" sale on the first Saturday in January. I think it's on the 5th.

until 3:00 it's business as usual - prices from 50 c to $3.00. Then at 3:30 they reopen the doors and everything is 50c.

It's pretty chaotic and crazy, but so much fun. I feel so rich when I go because I can buy anything I want and as many pieces as I want.

One of my favorites is the salvation army AS IS store: 11 th street near market. Every clothing item is $1.25. Blankets are $2.00. ( I have bought relatively clean looking down blankets there and washed them. For two bucks!) Often the cashiers don't take the care to count every last item.

The draw back: you have to dig through huge bins to find that special treasure. This is a job only for the bold 2nd hand shoppers.

Store closes at 3:30 pm and opens at 9:00 or 9:30?

Around the corner - South Van Ness @ Mission, is a large regular Salvation army store. Different store hours than the as is store.
